Gibson SG Polaris White (1965)
1965 Gibson SG in original Polaris White finish. An absolutely killer looking player's grade guitar, this instrument has undergone significant restoration, but retains so much character and oozes enduring cool.
The pickups and electronics are not original to this guitar, with an early-mid ‘70s Gibson humbucker in the neck and an ‘80s Seymour Duncan JBP in the bridge. The pots date from ‘81. The guitar was also worked on in the last decade, when the Gibson ABR-1 bridge and stop tailpiece were added, as were the Grover tuners. The guitar was further restored with a new fingerboard in bound ebony, with large block inlays,. At some point, the neck was reset and stabilized, and a headstock break was repaired too.
A seriously cool vintage SG with heavily weather checked finish front-to-back, this guitar also plays great with low action and a fast, comfortable neck. This guitar is listed for pickup only due to the unique condition of this instrument. Buyers are suggested to consider the guitar in person.
The guitar weighs 7.5 lbs. The neck has a width of 1 11/16” at the nut, a depth of .89” at the first fret, .91” at the twelfth fret. The guitar has a scale length of 24.75”.
A modern Gibson hard shell case will be included with the guitar.
